Monday 16th will be focussed on schools. Schools are being encouraged to raise awareness of the impact of car travel on the environment, highlight alternatives to the car, and to help children and parents consider how they travel and the impact their choice may have. This is a great opportunity for school communities that may not yet have been involved to get involved in School Travel Planning.
Thursday 19th will be devoted to finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. High Wycombe’s Rainbow Routes and Mix 107 have teamed up to give away prizes at the new Eden Shopping Centre.
Friday 20th is ‘Save the Planet’ day. Bucks CarShare has been sponsored by Mars Planets for the day and is giving away bags of chocolate to encourage people to log on to www.buckscarshare.co.uk and share their journeys.
Saturday 21st marks the final day of Green Transport Week and will culminate in a festival in Kingsbury in Aylesbury. Circus Bill will be coming along to teach circus skills to children and adults at a drop in workshop, we will be getting active with Jazzercise and we will be entertained by the Melody Room Jazz Band. There will be information available on walking, cycling, car sharing and Chiltern Railways will also be there with information. Buckingham Bikes are attending with a Dr Bike surgery to give bikes a free health check and Mix 96 will be there with their megaslide. The day will be a fun family event for all and you are invited to come along and join the fun!
