There are over 200 designated bike parking spaces in and around the town centre, providing quick and easy access to shops, cafes, cinema and work places.

All cycle parking in Aylesbury is free and undercover.

Getting your employer to be cycle friendly

More and more workplaces in Aylesbury are getting cycle storage facilities for their employees. If your workplace doesn't have designated cycle storage, contact the team at Cycle Aylesbury and we will try to arrange some provision for cyclists with your employers. Email commutingbybike@buckscc.gov.uk

 

Tax free bike purchase

The government has introduced a tax-free bike buying scheme. Called Cycle to Work, you can buy a bike with up to 50% discount. See the Cycle Loan Scheme for You page.

Employers can loan bicycles to their staff as a tax-free benefit providing that the bicycles are used some of the time to get to and from work or for work related purposes. Employees can then buy the bike at the end of the loan period for a nominal sum.

Any employer can set up their own 'Cycle to Work' scheme, which operates like a salary sacrifice scheme.

For employers who don't wish to set it up, it can be outsourced to third party companies. There are four main 'Cycle to Work facilitator schemes:
